Save Our Souls: Review by Lucy Phoenix

As we all know, last week Blutengel launched his new single titled "Save Our Souls", the clip follows the "standard Blutengel", a clip without a well-defined story [unlike Nachtbringer], blood and sex appeal.
The clip was filmed at the open, in full sunlight, which certainly is weird, because we're talking about a band that until yesterday brought the theme of vampires, is that a definite division between the old theme and the new theme? Another thing to note is the absence of Ulrike, it may be because in the final edit of the video cut scenes with Anja and probably Ulrike appeared together, the clip only see fairly clearly a dancer Viki [because of hair ] and other masked dancers. Speaking of dancers, they represent an unnecessary appeal to the sexual theme but already is a trademark of band. Probably we will soon see a new lineup of Blutengel, the output of Jenny and Maria practically confirmed with this clip.
The promises of disclosure was that this would be a "cry of despair" and that the music would please many fans of the old Blutengel as new fans. Sure, a cry of desperation or just a statement of fact? Chris was never a great composer of sad melodies, songs like the famous Seelenschmerz was because of the girls, while Chris was responsible for songs with the main theme: sex and vampires. What was to be a just a cry became facts in its composition Chris says things that lead you to suicide, but does not a scream for help.
When the promise to please everyone, surely the people who liked the two [or were the three?] Last cd's also liked that song, now as the old fans, this is not so certain, music vaguely reminiscent songs from Demon Kiss remixed and renewed, but that's what made the band stand farther Blutengel 10 years ago. The video and music together conclude that we are talking about a new band, which is not all bad, surely these current songs may please a larger number of fans and Chris' voice is robotic least to look like a "Vampire Lord", the that sooner or later become cloying, and the melody of the song is a bit more dancing to various types of people, and not only for those who visited the underground houses of Germany.

Conclusion: The clip farewell once the dark themes like vampires, but can not leave the blood and sex appeal. The music is good, but everyone has to understand that we are no longer talking about the band's 2002/2004.

Is it really that Ulrike only appeared in the clip or not, soon we will have unpleasant surprises [Blutengel that every fan has to be prepared]?

Final note: 7.5/10.0
