Save Our Souls: Review by Lucy Phoenix
As we all know, last week Blutengel launched his new single titled "Save Our Souls", the clip follows the "standard Blutengel", a clip without a well-defined story [unlike Nachtbringer], blood and sex appeal.
The clip was filmed at the open, in full sunlight, which certainly is weird, because we're talking about a band that until yesterday brought the theme of vampires, is that a definite division between the old theme and the new theme? Another thing to note is the absence of Ulrike, it may be because in the final edit of the video cut scenes with Anja and probably Ulrike appeared together, the clip only see fairly clearly a dancer Viki [because of hair ] and other masked dancers. Speaking of dancers, they represent an unnecessary appeal to the sexual theme but already is a trademark of band. Probably we will soon see a new lineup of Blutengel, the output of Jenny and Maria practically confirmed with this clip.
The promises of disclosure was that this would be a "cry of despair" and that the music would please many fans of the old Blutengel as new fans. Sure, a cry of desperation or just a statement of fact? Chris was never a great composer of sad melodies, songs like the famous Seelenschmerz was because of the girls, while Chris was responsible for songs with the main theme: sex and vampires. What was to be a just a cry became facts in its composition Chris says things that lead you to suicide, but does not a scream for help.
When the promise to please everyone, surely the people who liked the two [or were the three?] Last cd's also liked that song, now as the old fans, this is not so certain, music vaguely reminiscent songs from Demon Kiss remixed and renewed, but that's what made the band stand farther Blutengel 10 years ago. The video and music together conclude that we are talking about a new band, which is not all bad, surely these current songs may please a larger number of fans and Chris' voice is robotic least to look like a "Vampire Lord", the that sooner or later become cloying, and the melody of the song is a bit more dancing to various types of people, and not only for those who visited the underground houses of Germany.
Conclusion: The clip farewell once the dark themes like vampires, but can not leave the blood and sex appeal. The music is good, but everyone has to understand that we are no longer talking about the band's 2002/2004.
Is it really that Ulrike only appeared in the clip or not, soon we will have unpleasant surprises [Blutengel that every fan has to be prepared]?
Final note: 7.5/10.0

Anja Milow and Blutengel part ways…
Anja Milow and Blutengel are parting ways. Anja has decided to take this step because the work with band did not leave her enough time for her studies and the diversity of other projects she is active in. She and the band are parting on good terms and will keep on having friendly relations. Chris and the band are wishing Anja all the best and lots of success with all of her endeavours.

Studio diary - update 08/07/2012: "A year full of Blutengel!"
And then ... Next week we will meet for the first time with producer! Then we will make a general planning and then a query selection for the single. The first topic is already fixed, since the producer is not London, so I'll be away for a while.
Format will be given to the limited edition ... Perhaps a very special, a very limited box ... We have several ideas ... Anyway, next year will be full of Blutengel! Have we schedule the shows for 2013!

Anja Milow at Mera Luna
In the last weekend, August 11th and 12th, came another gothic music festival in Germany, however, the event featured the presentation of Blutengel, but Anja paraded and performed to AMF Korsets, a designer of corsets at least ... exotic. Besides the parade, Anja also showed some dance numbers fireworks. For those unaware, the Mera Luna, in addition to musical performances with guest bands, he also has some other events, such as the Fashion Show, which is the parade of alternative clothing brands, which tend to match the like who is present at the event.
Anja is a AMF model for long time ago and maintained that position even going pro Blutengel.

Blutengel at Amphi Festival 2012
In this weekend, July 21th and 22th, happens the Amphi Festival, one of the more importants festivals of dark electo in Cologne, Germany, in all years. The formation that the band used for this presatation was:
Chris, Ulrike, Anja and two tottaly new dancers. Maria and Jenny not participated in the event, Maria had already talked about it on his Facebook before Amphi happen, according her, this is a 'tecnic decision' and they don't will be with Blutentel on stage until the end of the year, the next year still uncertain because Blutengel hadn't a calendar to back to stages. The ausence of Viki still without motives.

Blutengel Interview for Rush on Rock
German futurepop/industrial crew Blutengel continue to make waves with their unique brand of modern rock.
Read the latest rushonrock exclusive now and look out for many more in the coming weeks!
rushonrock: What was the initial inspiration for setting up Blutengel?
Chris Pohl: In fact it was the time when I tried to quit my contract with Maschinenwelt, a berlin label. I was under contract with Seelenkrank, and the guy did not want to let me go so I changed the name into Blutengel and signed in at Out of line! I took the chance to change also music and style a little, away from the fetish themes and more into gothic, vampire. So Blutengel was born!
